We have some wonderful in-person offerings coming up this weekend!

Friday, January 19th at 8PM at the UUCWV!
We have our Friday Night D&D Games!

Join us for epic one shot adventures & campaigns with experienced Dungeon Masters from WVCUUPs! All levels of players, from beginner to expert, are invited. Our D&D nights are growing. We have quite a lot of snacks, so feel free to bring some coffee, tea, seltzer water, juice and any other non-alcoholic beverage of choice to share instead

On Sunday we have Irene Glasse all the way from Maryland joining us for two gatherings!

Sunday, January 21st at 10:30AM
Irene Glasse will be speaking on "Seeking the Edges" for our UU Morning Service.

Spiritual practice offers us unique opportunities for growth and connection. Along with moments of transcendent joy, the thread of spirit can help us navigate challenges as well. This sermon will explore the edges of spirituality: the learning edge, the fear edge, and the faith edge among others. Delve into approaches to the thresholds of your practice, and ways to cross over them into new, nourishing territory.

Then we will be meeting back at the church at 3PM for a workshop on Cultivating Balance.

In this era of 24 hour news cycles, overscheduled calendars, and late-stage failed capitalist systems, it can feel nearly impossible to find even footing. The good news is that there’s magic for that! Learn energy exercises, spells, techniques, and approaches for rooting deeply, balancing your energy, and finding your center.

Irene Glasse is a UUPagan based in Maryland. She is a longtime teacher of witchcraft, meditation, & magic in the mid-Atlantic and a Commissioned Lay Minister at the UU Congregation of Frederick. She is the co-author of "Blackfeather Mystery School: Magpie Training" (Dragon Alchemy, 2022), a contributing writer of "Gemini Witch: Unlock the Magic of Your Sun Sign" & "Llewellyn's 2024 Sabbats Almanac" (Llewellyn Worldwide, 2023), a blogger and columnist (Glasse Witch Cottage). She also is a musician, singer and songwriter for Kindred Crow.
Currently Irene has the great honor of serving the Frederick, Maryland, based Pagan community through Frederick CUUPS (the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans).  Frederick CUUPS is a large, vibrant community of diverse paths.  As a UU Pagan, they welcome all seekers to visit and explore with them (like us) – you’ll find an open-minded group of folks happy to share their paths with you, and support you as you develop your own.  Frederick CUUPS offers monthly Earth Centered Spirituality Services, Full Moon Labyrinth Walks, the eight High Holiday rituals of the Pagan year, the annual Frederick Pagan Pride Day, the Masquerade Ball, and many classes and workshops.  If you’re in the area, Irene invites you to visit.  She has been involved with Frederick CUUPS for over ten years now, and is the Lead Squirrel Herder (president) as she calls it.

Irene also serves on the board of the Sacred Space Foundation, the board that organizes and presents The Sacred Space Conference.   The Sacred Space Conference is the premier annual esoteric conference on the East Coast for intermediate to advanced practitioners. Meeting in spring in the Washington, DC/Baltimore area, each year our featured teachers and a host of highly qualified regional teachers offer a wide variety of workshops and rituals developed for a more advanced audience.

Needless to say, she is pretty friggin awesome and we are very grateful for her and her spouse for making the trip up our way.

I know we have a lot of non-social media members and friends, we've updated our front home page to leave comments with only a name & email. I hope this helps!!
