September arrives, and the Wheel turns again.
The days grow shorter, the air begins to cool, and we find ourselves standing at the threshold of Mabon—the second harvest, and the time of the Autumn Equinox. This is a moment of stillness and symmetry, when light and dark meet in equal measure. It invites us to reflect on what we’ve gathered so far, to honor what has come to fullness, and to prepare for the inward turn of the year. Mabon is not just about harvest, but about harmony. It's a call to seek balance in our own lives—to pause, give thanks, and consider what must be set down in order to carry forward with intention. Whether you're tending your altar, walking the changing land, or simply making space for reflection, this is a sacred time to listen deeply. This reflection feels especially true after such a beautiful Pagan Pride Day. Together, our community raised 566.2 pounds of food and $110 for Breadbasket of NEPA, issued over 230 wristbands (with easily triple that in total attendance), and filled the day with music, learning, ritual, and connection. None of it would have been possible without the hands, hearts, and creativity of our vendors, presenters, entertainers, volunteers, and every attendee who showed up to support our local Pagan community. Thank you for making this year’s festival such a strong, joyful, and generous gathering. Hail the doers, and hail the community. This month, we continue weaving our threads of community through ritual, learning, and shared celebration. You’ll find the full list of September events below—including our Social, Mabon gathering, Dark Moon ritual, and more. As the Wheel turns toward the darker half of the year, may you find moments of clarity, grounding, and grace. In community, The WVCUUPS Team Your browser does not support viewing this document. Join us on Saturday, August 9th, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre, PA for a full day of workshops, rituals, music, and community celebration.
Admission is free, with a suggested donation of non-perishable food items for Bread Basket of NEPA. In past years, we’ve raised over 600 lbs of food—let’s keep the tradition going! Here’s the full schedule of workshops and events: Pavilion One
The day will open with a community procession at 11:00 AM at the main entrance and close with a final ritual led by Grove of the Ancient River Coven at 5:00 PM. Full workshop descriptions, presenter bios, and vendor details will be available soon. We step into the season of first harvests, growing connection, and collective visioning. Whether you’re deepening your spiritual practice, exploring new skills, or just showing up to share space—we’re grateful you’re here.
Last month, we gathered in joy and visibility at our Summer Solstice LGBTQIA+ Pride event. The turnout was incredible, and we’re still feeling the love. Thank you to everyone who came, supported, drummed, and danced. These moments of shared celebration are what community is made of. We’re also thrilled to share that our WVCUUPS Bylaws were officially approved. This is a major milestone in the continued growth and grounding of our chapter. On Sunday, July 6th, we’ll gather for Lúnasa Ritual Planning. This session will help us decide whether we’re offering this ritual at Pagan Pride Day or holding it separately on August 2nd as part of our regular potluck gathering. We’d love to hear your thoughts—join us online or in-person and help shape what this celebration will look like. We’re also delighted to welcome back Alythia of the Ash, an incredible teacher who many of you will remember from our past Witchcraft 101 series. This July, she’s offering a new 3-part class: Beyond Tarot Basics, starting Monday, July 7th. Alythia brings depth, clarity, and grounded wisdom to her teaching—we’re honored to have her return. Looking ahead, NEPA Pagan Pride Day is coming up on Saturday, August 9th at Kirby Park. Planning is in full swing, and we need your voice. Whether you’ve been with us for years or just joined, there’s a place for you. We’re especially seeking volunteers for setup, hospitality, and ritual support. Volunteer and help make NEPA PPD a success! You’ll also notice several collaborative planning sessions on the calendar this month—ritual building for Lúnasa, Dark Moon, and Pagan Pride. These meetings are open to all, whether you're a member or not. If you’ve been curious about how we create ritual together, this is a great time to listen in, contribute ideas, or just see how the magick happens. Also this month:
As always, our Discord server is open 24/7. It's where most of our organizing and conversation happens—hop in any time. This summer is a time of weaving: of ideas, hands, voices, and futures. We’re glad to be weaving with you. In community, The WVCUUPS Team |
