Introduction to Shamanism within the United States

Join Rev. Monika Kojote in an introduction to Modern Shamanism within the United States. We will begin with a discussion of the Ancestors, learn how to connect with our own ancestors and Spirits of Place, touch on the topic of cultural appropriation versus cultural exchange, and then learn the basic shamanic journeying techniques that support all further meditation work. Come join us to share stories and connect with the Otherworlds!

Rev. MonikaKojote
(she/her)

Rev. Monika Kojote is a Druid shaman serving the North American & international communities for over 15 years. Monika uses she/her pronouns and is a member of the LGBTQIA+  community and the hearing-impaired community (ASL-inclusive). In her practice, she works consistently to create safe & sacred space for all marginalized and disabled populations. Her education & experience ensure that she is a trauma-informed clergy person and healer. Although she is based in the Appalachian region of Maryland, her in-person services and workshops span the East Coast & Mid-Atlantic regions. Heathens Against Hate in Hostile Times

presented by
The Heathens Against Hate Team

In perilous times, what does one do to protect oneself and one's community? Hávamál 127 tells us to confront evil and injustice rather than to remain passive. This verse has led to Declaration 127, which has become a cornerstone document of inclusive Heathenry. Today, we will discuss Declaration 127's influence on Heathen organizations and work to expand the network of inclusive Heathens and Pagans throughout our commonwealth.

Frith in Volatile Times: Heathens, Animists, and the Sacred Duty

presented by Stacey Lynne Stewart and Robert L. Schreiwer

In a world where individuals are made to bear the burden of climate change and to fight against mega corporations (and the wave of destruction they leave behind them), throwing our cans in a recycling bin feels like crying into the ocean. In this workshop, we will discuss how Urglaawer interpret the "Sacred Duty" of our faith, and will discuss options for honoring the Sacred Duty when we are financially strapped, mobility-challenged, pressed for time, or at risk of losing our "unalienable" rights. We will also talk about how many Heathens and Pagans approach things like inclusivity, sovereignty of self, sustainability, accessibility, and especially human rights in these volatile times. Everyone can gain (and share!) some perspective on how seemingly useless gestures can be meaningful and spiritually rewarding.

Vibrations & Healing: A Sound Bath and Crystal Energy Experience

Step into a sanctuary of serenity and healing in this immersive Sound Bath & Crystal Energy Workshop. Designed for all levels, this unique experience blends the restorative power of sound with the subtle energies of crystals to elevate your wellness practice.

What to Expect:

Full Sound Bath Session:

Be enveloped in the soothing tones of crystal singing bowls, ocean drum, harmonic flute, and other vibrational instruments. These sounds are carefully tuned to align with your chakras, promote deep relaxation, and clear energetic blockages.

Crystal Energy Integration:
Learn how specific crystals resonate with different sound frequencies and energy centers in the body. Discover how incorporating crystals into your sound or Reiki practice can deepen meditation, enhance energetic flow, and amplify healing.

Take-Home Gift:
Each participant will get to choose a free Reiki blessed and infused crystal to hold during the session to enhance healing. Take your new crystal home with you to continue the healing benefits of the Reiki Sound Healing session.

Come as you are, leave recharged and aligned. Crystals are provided—just bring a yoga mat, a blanket, and an open heart.

Join WVCUUPS for a Lammas (Lúnasa) ritual held as part of the NEPA Pagan Pride Day Festival—a day dedicated to connection, education, and celebration across Pagan paths.

Lammas marks the first harvest, a time to pause and honor what has ripened in our lives. In this ritual, we’ll gather as a community to express gratitude, reflect on our personal and collective journeys, and offer intention for the season ahead.

This ritual is open to all, regardless of path or experience level. You are welcome to bring a small offering for the altar—bread, fruit, herbs, or something handmade—but your presence is more than enough.
Let’s celebrate what we’ve grown—together.
